IC3 Digital Literacy GS6 Master

The IC3 Digital Literacy GS6 Master program is designed to equip students with advanced digital literacy skills required to thrive in today's digital world. This course builds upon the foundational concepts covered in previous IC3 Digital Literacy courses and takes students deeper into the world of technology.

The program is divided into three levels, where students will learn advanced computer skills, including database management, advanced word processing, advanced spreadsheets, and presentation software. Students will also learn advanced internet and email usage, including electronic communication and collaborative tools.

In addition, the course covers topics related to digital security, privacy, and responsible use of technology. Students will learn about cyber threats, online identity theft, phishing, and social engineering scams. They will also learn best practices for protecting their digital identity, securing personal data, and avoiding online scams.

The course also covers topics related to emerging technologies such as cloud computing, virtual and augmented reality, and artificial intelligence. Students will learn how these technologies are changing the digital landscape and how to use them effectively in their personal and professional lives.

Upon completion of this course, students will have the skills and knowledge required to become a competent and responsible user of technology in the workplace and beyond.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Use advanced computer software, including database management, advanced word processing, advanced spreadsheets, and presentation software.

  2. Use advanced internet and email applications for electronic communication and collaboration.

  3. Understand the concepts of digital security, privacy, and responsible use of technology.

  4. Identify cyber threats, online identity theft, phishing, and social engineering scams.

  5. Apply best practices for protecting digital identity, securing personal data, and avoiding online scams.

  6. Understand the basics of emerging technologies, including cloud computing, virtual and augmented reality, and artificial intelligence.

  7. Use emerging technologies effectively in their personal and professional lives.

Assessment:

Assessment will be based on a combination of practical assignments, class participation, and a final exam. The final exam will cover all topics covered in the course.
